About the Festival:

Dear Wine Friend,

The Robertson Wine Valley will proudly host the second Hands-on Harvest festival from 26-28 February 2010.  This boutique event offers wine aficionados and budding vintners a chance to experience the magic of harvest for a day – without having to quit their day jobs!

Guests can look forward to: * Breakfast in the Vineyards * Grape Picking * Bunch Sorting * Stomping your own grapes * Grape vs Wine Tasting * Harvest Market * Vineyard Tractor Trips * Must tasting * Wine tasting by Horse Cart * Cooking with Grapes….  and much more!

Groups are small and intimate to ensure that you have the very best hands-on experience and all activities need to be pre-booked by 24 February 2009.  But hurry as many of the tickets will booked by then!

From the beginning of December you'll be able to see the programme online at www.handsonharvest.com and plan your weekend. A lot of the activities are also kiddie-friendly, which makes this a perfect opportunity for a family break away weekend.

Harvest Day Tips

  • The day could start out cool and can easily warm up by early afternoon, so we suggest layered clothing and sturdy shoes or boots. Sandals or open toes are not recommended.
  • Bring a pair of gloves, especially if you don’t want your hands to get sticky from picking the grapes.  Dishwashing gloves works better than work gloves as they are flexible.
  • Bring a hat, sunblock and a bottle of water, especially if you are taking part in one of the more lengthy activities
  • Bring your medicine if you are allergic to bees or get hayfever
  • Don’t forget your camera as you will have plenty opportunity to capture your hands-on harvest experience and you're welcome to forward it to us afterwards.
  • Most importantly, remember you are here to have a great time!

Sorry, apart from guide dogs, no pets allowed!

 Harvest Regards,
